Mountain
Flight
Mountain flights
have become a popular tourist attraction
in Nepal. Four airlines offer regular
forages into the snow-capped peaks of
the Himalaya. Mountain flights appeal
to all categories of travellers. For
those who are restricted by time or
other considerations from going trekking,
these flights offer a panoramic view
of the Himalayas in just one hour. Travellers
take off from Kathmandu in the early
morning for an hour's worth of spectacular
mountain scenery. Much has been written
about Everest, but to actually witness
the highest place on Earth close-up
from a mountain flight is very different.

Biking
Mountain
biking is a fast way to see rural Nepal.
The villages are quaint and you will see
the local Nepalese inhabitants as they
are. You can ride through rice fields,
bike to Terai towns or test your mountain
biking skills by choosing to travel to
Mount Mera. Mountain biking opportunities
in Nepal are endless and the many off-road
mountain tracks have created a paradise
for the action biker. |

| Hot
Air Ballooning
To
look up into the sky and see the towering
mountains of the Himalaya, or even walk
amongst them, is a valid and popular reason
to visit Nepal. However, to glide silently
amongst them is perhaps the most thrilling
of all. The adventure of hot air ballooning
is now available from Kathmandu. The balloon
will float approximately 1,200 to 1,500m
above the valley, bringing passengers
close to 3,000m high. From this altitude
the entire Himalaya Range can be viewed
due to the 360 degree visibility hot air
ballooning affords, together with fantastic
views of the Kathmandu valley below. |

| Paragliding
A truly wonderful and fulfilling experience
for the adventure-seeking traveller. Paragliding
trips take you over some of the best scenery
on earth as you share air-space with Himalayan
Griffin vultures, eagles and kites and
float over villages, monastries, lakes
and jungle absorbing the spectacular views
of the majestic Himalaya.

| Bungy
Jumping
Experience Nepal from a different perspective.
One of the world’s longest bungy
jumps is set up on a bridge straddling
the Bhote Kosi gorge near the border with
Tibet. At 160m drop into the gorge this
is higher than the highest bungy in New
Zealand and is becoming a very popular
adrenaline rush.
